Fans of the beloved comedy series Gavin and Stacey have reason to celebrate: creators and stars James Corden and Ruth Jones have announced a unique live event.
When Gavin Met Stacey: An Evening with Ruth Jones and James Corden will take place at the London Palladium on October 6, just days before the release of their new book, When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between, out on October 9.
Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, August 1 at 10am via LiveNation.co.uk, with every ticket including a copy of the book.
The event promises an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at how the hit show was created, featuring stories and memories from the duo who brought Gavin and Stacey to life.
Corden and Jones will share what it was like pitching the show, the challenges they faced along the way, and how their real-life friendship developed alongside their on-screen characters, Smithy and Nessa.

The series originally aired from 2007 to 2010 and quickly became a favourite for its sharp writing and memorable characters. Alongside Corden and Jones, the show starred Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb as Gavin’s parents, Joanna Page as Stacey, Melanie Walters as Stacey’s mother Gwen, and Rob Brydon as the lovable Uncle Bryn.
Gavin and Stacey also spawned several Christmas specials, culminating in a final episode that aired on Christmas Day 2024. That special drew an impressive 18.49 million viewers on BBC One, cementing the show’s place as a beloved part of British television history.
Fans attending the live event can expect plenty of laughs as Corden and Jones recall the awkwardness, warmth, and subversive humour that helped define the show.
They will also offer insight into the emotional journey from the very first idea to the final day of filming.
Corden described filming the final episode as “emotional, exhausting, and absolutely wonderful all at once,” while Jones said, “We wanted to give the fans a proper farewell — a celebration of everything the show has meant to us and to them.”
This event offers a rare chance for fans to celebrate the enduring legacy of a comedy that has become a cultural touchstone.
