Russian forces strike targets in Ukraine's Odesa, Mykolaiv ports

Russia said on Saturday its forces had struck fuel storage facilities in the Ukrainian port of Odesa and a tugboat used by the Ukrainian military in Mykolaiv. Russia and Ukraine have intensified attacks in recent weeks on Black Sea shipping routes, rattling global grain markets.

Russian ⁠forces ​carried out ​strikes on fuel storage tanks in ​the ‌Ukrainian ⁠port ‌of Odesa and hit ⁠a marine tugboat repurposed for ​use ‌by the Ukrainian army ‌in the ​port of Mykolaiv, Russia's Interfax news agency ​reported ​Saturday, ​citing the Defence Ministry.

The battlefield reports could not be independently verified.

Russia and Ukraine have both stepped up attacks in recent weeks on shipping in ⁠the Black Sea and Sea of ⁠Azov, ​driving wheat prices higher.
