Well, Seahawks fans, the wait is finally over.
The Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson have come to an agreement on a contract extension.
“SEATTLE. Let’s get it,” Wilson tweeted early Tuesday morning.
Without disclosing the terms, Wilson shared the news in the form of a video with wife, Ciara.
“Hey Seattle, we got a deal,” Wilson said in the video. “Go Hawks, but I’m going to see y’all in the morning. Time for y’all to go to bed.”
Wilson’s post came less than an hour after his self-imposed deadline of midnight, which came and went without word from either side as to whether or not a contract extension had been reached.
In classic Wilson form, he broke the news.
Specifics of the new deal likely won’t be available until the morning, but for now, Seahawks fans can rest easy knowing Seattle locked up their favorite quarterback for years to come.
