Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has made a strong effort to beef up his social media game this offseason.
After a late-night tweet announcing his new contract in which he was lying in bed with Ciara and wearing gold chains, Wilson has continued creating unique social media content, as opposed to the cookie-cutter pictures and videos of previous years.
Wilson posted a handful of tweets on the Fourth of July. His first tweet of the day was pretty generic, a nice message to Seahawks fans about making sure they showed love and gratitude while wishing everyone a happy holiday.
The cornrows are hard to take seriously, but the message itself was heartfelt.
Next, Wilson helped promote Ciara’s appearance at the Macy’s fireworks spectacular, which was shown on NBC.
Finally, Wilson decided to end the day with a tweet that expressed his excitement about his wife, fireworks … and Season 3 of the Netflix hit show “Stranger Things.”
Wilson appears to be trying to level up his Twitter game, and his use of emojis and goofy videos is a development for the star quarterback this offseason.
Seahawks fans have just under three weeks until the start of training camp — which begins on July 25 — so Wilson’s goofy tweets will have to hold everyone over until then.
