RuPaul's Drag Race UK Versus The World star condemns threats made after elimination

Drag Race UK Versus The World contestant Lemon has revealed her true feelings after her elimination from the highly anticipated series.

After the premiere which took place on BBC Three, drag fans from across the globe were quick to react to the unfortunate elimination of the Canadian Drag star.

Chatting to the Mirror on a Facebook Live tell-all, she stated that before she entered the show she felt like Canadian drag artists and other performers were not well respected and not given the same treatment as American or British queens.

Lemon was asked if she thought the judges made the correct decision - and she was quick to respond stating that she would not have placed herself in the bottom.

She said: “We all sign up for this competition knowing who is judging us. Ru and Michelle will have their opinion no matter what we think”

With a star studded cast with queens from all around the globe, the Mirror asked Lemon who she was expecting to see there.

In response, she stated that she expected to see the girls who she was in fact competing with as they’re all fan favourites and super talented.

“I think the most surprising to me would probably be the American girls and I say that because they’ve already been on All Stars so seeing them I was like okay this is even more intense”

After Lemon’s unfortunate elimination which was decided by her fellow cast member Pangina Heals a large number of trolls were quick to judge the Thai queen’s decision.

Fans of the show began to direct hurtful threats to Pangina which resulted in her making a public statement on Twitter. "Please be kind to other humans. You may not agree with my decision and I can respect that BUT violence or threats are not okay."

When Lemon was questioned on her opinions of the hurtful comments she spoke out and stated that if you’re sending hate to drag queens you are not a fan of hers. “To my zesty’s, I’m so thankful for all of the love and support. If you disagree don’t send Pangina hate just send me money”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Versus The World was filmed back in March 2020 in the city of Manchester during the pandemic.

Various queens from Drag Race UK series 3 spoke out regarding the hardships of funding a Drag Race wardrobe and Lemon was in total agreement.

When the Mirror asked Lemon how preparing for the show impacted her preparation process, she stated that things were a lot easier than her previous season

She said: “It was very very hard but I’m also lucky because before Canada’s Drag Race I had no money to get anything done but I had big dreams and big visions and I’d message designers and they’d say you could literally never afford that but this time I’ve been saving my money.”
