Trips to Karen's Diner often go viral for the mean comments made by the staff at the chain restaurant. It appears celebs are not exempt from the wrath of the waiters as one rugby league star was hilariously called out for his "Turkey teeth” after daring to answer back to a 'rude waitress’.
The video, which features former scrum-half Mark Aston, who is the current head coach of rugby league side Sheffield Eagles, was shared on TikTok by his daughter, Natasha Burt.
Mark and his family were out at the Sheffield location of the Australian restaurant chain, where the staff are instructed to be mean to customers.
The video starts with the 55-year-old and his loved ones walking to the restaurant as a caption reads: "Taking my dad to Karen’s diner when he’s got no idea what it is." Little did he know his experience would go viral with nearly three million views and over 1,500 comments.
At the entrance, a grumpy waitress picks up a megaphone and barks in Mark’s face: "What’s up w***er?"
Taking it in good humour, the Sheffield Eagles coach laughs and replies: "Ah, I love you." Despite his charm, the waitress doesn't soften her approach and says: "You love me already? You don’t even know who the f*** I am! Move away."
After foolishly trying to give as good as he gets, Mark is left stunned when the waitress calls out his "Turkey teeth". She tells him: "Stand here, have some time out – you and your Turkey teeth..."
Mark’s family members howl with laughter as it is revealed he did indeed travel to Turkey to have his gnashers fixed.
In another scene, a different waitress is seen addressing Mark’s blonde-haired partner as "Boris [Johnson]" to further fits of laughter.
In the final scene, Mark dons a party hat with "the inspiration for my teeth is Ross from Friends" scrawled on the front, referencing the famous episode of the eighth series of the hit sitcom.
One social media user commented: "I’m in bed with covid & literally nearly died from coughing so much from laughing. I needed a good laugh."
"This is amazing. Her straight face with that hat on. I’m crying," said another. Someone else wrote: "Turkey teeth" and "Boris - great fun!"
Others agreed, saying: "That is the funniest yet, Boris n Turkey teeth had me!" and "I’m crying real tears!"
