It’s quite a big patch, and there is a ton of stuff to cover. From improvements, bug fixes, to new content, this patch brings a lot of stuff to Rugby League 26. Let’s first start with everything new that’s being added to the game.

  • Team Of The Week Set 2 Pro Team Cards: Brand new team cards for Career Mode.
  • Career Custom Leagues and Clubs: You can now create and customize your own leagues and clubs in Career Mode. Fans were waiting for the developers to improve the Career Mode. The mode still needs a lot of work, but it’s a step in the right direction.
  • Play Now Lineup Saves: You can manually save a lineup configuration and use it in Play Now mode.

Now, let’s move on to the improvements, bug fixes, and overall balance changes coming in the October update.

The major areas of improvement, as mentioned in the patch notes, are play-the-ball-marker awareness, collecting near touch, and overall stability. We all know how infested Rugby League 26 is with bugs, and these should take care of some major problems. However, there is still a lot of fixing to be done.

There have also been balance changes to the difficulty levels, mainly Rookie and Amateur. Contested Short Kick-off collects and grubber kick distance have also received balance tweaks.

Lastly, some of the bugs and glitches have also been worked on, like:

  • Substitutes ignoring offside
  • Player nameplates disappearing mid-match
  • Co-op controller issues

In short, the October patch update aims to fix a lot of the game’s major issues. Despite this, there are still a lot of bugs in the game, and it still needs a lot of fixing. Career mode has been a major talking point. Rugby League 26 has quite a poor Career Mode experience. Fans have been wanting a major overhaul for that mode and bring it closer to the other big sports games out there.
