RTE's Ryan Tubridy warns anyone thinking of watching Squid Game on Netflix

Ryan Tubridy has warned anyone who doesn't like violence to avoid watching Netflix sensation Squid Game.

The hit show is set to become the most watched Netflix programme of all time, jumping above Bridgerton.

And with many people jumping on the bandwagon and watching it themselves, Tubs has warned his RTE Radio One listeners that it's not for everyone.

The RTE host told his listeners: "I watched the most ridiculous thing, we spoke about it last week.

"Watched Squid Game, now first of all you think Squid Game, you think Spongebob and you think Squidward, no! Squid Game, think Hunger Games in a matter of speaking.

"It's a TV programme that's become, will probably be the most watched show in the history of Netflix in any language anywhere.

"How do I describe it...'Squid Game is that of a classic survival death game, except each game is based on Korean children's games. So over 400 individuals in serious debt are invited to participate in a mysterious game where they are forced to risk their lives in a series of games with an opportunity to win almost 40 million dollars.'

"All you need to know is, if you don't like violence, this is really important, if you don't like violence, or can't tolerate it on TV, do not watch this programme.

Ryan Tubridy will interview Daniel Craig on the Late Late Show on Friday night (Ryan Tubridy Instagram)

"It is very violent, now if you can handle that stuff, you're in, it's bonkers."

The nail-biting Korean horror features hundreds of debt-ridden contestants vying to win 45.6 billion Korean won (£28.2 million).

It sees hundreds of contestants rounded up and forced by sinister men in hoods and masks to take part in a series of six games including British Bulldog and What's The Time Mr Wolf.

If a player loses or quits, they die, with the show featuring hundreds of deaths during the gruesome drama.
