RTE's Marty Morrissey poses alongside newlyweds after gate-crashing their Mayo nuptials

Marty Morrissey took to Instagram to share a sweet photo with an Irish couple after he “gate-crashed” their Mayo wedding.

The RTE presenter posed next to the happy couple in Westport after gifting them a signed copy of his new book “It’s Marty.”

The accidental run-in has other people suggesting that he should crash their upcoming weddings, as one person wrote: “We must invite Marty to your wedding.”

Fellow sports presenter Jacqui Hurley commented under the post jokingly saying: “Only you could this happen to!”

In a post on Instagram accompanied by a photo of the trio, Marty explained: “So there I was walking down a street in Westport Co. Mayo! Turned a corner, heard a shout and suddenly I was in the middle of a wedding!

“Had to to get a present fast so ran back to my car and signed a copy with a special message to the newlyweds Laura Herrity and Shane Gibbons!

“Congratulations to the beautiful couple and apologies for gate crashing the wedding! I Hope you get to read the book …sometime!

“Thank you to both families for the beautiful warm welcome!”

Fans of the GAA broadcaster have been responding beneath his post with one commending the 63-year-old for “always spreading joy.”

Another wrote; “Only Marty love it!”
