RTE's Lottie Ryan breaks silence on ‘rollercoaster ride’ since son’s premature birth with first baby snap

Lottie Ryan has lifted the lid on the ‘rollercoaster ride’ since her son’s premature birth and told how she’ll ‘forever be indebted’ to the ‘angel’ doctors and nurses for their care.

The RTE star also shared the first image of her son Wolf, who she welcomed with her husband Fabio Aprile seven weeks early on 14 June.

Lottie has been mostly absent from social media for the past five weeks since his arrival, but returned briefly on Tuesday evening to update her fans, and thank them for their support and well wishes.

The Dancing with the Stars winner said: "I just wanted to pop on quickly because I literally haven’t been on in weeks and weeks, because to be honest I’ve just been living in my fabulous bubble of love with my wonderful little family and my little man who I am completely besotted with".

“I’m doing really well, it’s been a rollercoaster but as I said I am beyond in love with Wolf and he is doing amazingly well.”

The new mum lifted the lid on her son’s premature arrival, and paid special thanks to all the staff at the Rotunda hospital in Dublin, for looking after her and her baby.

She said: “I have needed them so badly over the past while, and after everything that I've been through, with Wolf arriving much sooner than we expected, the Rotunda has just been insanely incredible.

“The NICU unit there is just filled with angels, the nurses and doctors that work in there are just so incredible, I cannot speak highly enough of them, they are just wonderful human beings and the work they do is phenomenal”

Lottie also shared details to donate to the Rotunda Foundation, text ROTUNDA TO 50300 to donate €4, urging her followers to remember ‘you never know when you’re going to need them'.

“If you ever feel like donating to help out because you never know when you are going to need these people, they are just amazing.

The 2fm radio presenter added: “Not just the NICU, the ladies in A&E and the porters, the security guards, the people on the ward, absolutely every person in there I just feel eternally grateful to, I am indebted to them and I feel it is important to acknowledge them and say help them out if you can.”

Lottie then shared a snap of her and her baby Wolf, sharing his face to the world for the first time.
