AJMER: Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) will take a final decision regarding RAS Mains scheduled on February 25-26 after studying the Rajasthan High Court's order on cancelling RAS Prelims exam result.
RPSC secretary Harji Lal Atal said, "We are waiting for the copy of the high court order and after studying it, the commission will take action on the issue of conducting RAS Mains."
Despite the high court cancelling RAS Prelims results, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) members and RAS Mains candidates staged a protest outside the RPSC office here on Tuesday demanding deferment of RAS Mains exam. The protestors were against the changes in the syllabus of RAS Mains exam. However, police controlled the protest and detained five demonstrators.
Till now, the RPSC had been determined to conduct the RAS mains exams despite the protestors seeking more time for preparation.
The RPSC had asked to submit the RAS-2021 exams application from August 4 to September 2 to fill 988 posts in various state administrative and allied services. Around 6.5 lakh candidates applied for the exam. The prelims exam was conducted on October 27 in which 3,35,000 candidates appeared.
The RPSC declared the prelims result on November 19 and scheduled the RAS Mains on February 25-26 on 110 centres of division headquarters.
