Roy Keane explains how Man Utd forward Anthony Martial has improved

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane believes that we have seen a different side to Anthony Martial's game in recent weeks during the striker's strong run of form.

The France international, who joined United back in September 2015, has been in excellent form of late, scoring four times in his last six appearances across all competitions.

The former Monaco man has decided to hit form at just the perfect time, with United still feeling the pain of losing top goal-scorer Marcus Rashford with a back injury.

Martial has shouldered the responsibility of being United's main striker during Rashford's absence, with Keane highlighting just how well he has performed over the past few weeks.

As well as that, the Sky Sports pundit, however, questioned if Martial has the qualities to score in big away games, as top strikers tend to do.

"We have definitely seen something more out of him over the last few weeks in terms of things I didn't think he had in his locker such as that desire," Keane told Sky Sports .

"The key for this lad is that if you want to be a big striker at Manchester United you have to score in the important games against the big teams.

"I do have question marks over him. I always see the big strikers scoring in top games away from home."

Whilst Martial deserves great credit for the way he has gone about his work in the past few games, Keane also believes that the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window has had an impact on his upturn in form.

Keane added: "Fernandes might be a help to him. He has lifted everyone else around him and the good players can influence others."
