Roy Keane accused of being the fun police as fans hit out at Manchester United legend over Brazil comments

Fans have accused Roy Keane of 'hating fun' after he hit out at Brazil over their celebrations days after saying Senegal's noisy support was "annoying".

The Manchester United criticised Brazil for their dancing celebrations against South Korea as they ran out 4-1 winners on Monday night.

Speaking on ITV, Keane said: “I don’t mind the first kind of little jig – whatever they’re doing – but they’re still doing it after that, and then the manager getting involved with it.

“I’m not happy with it, I don’t think it’s very good at all.”

But Brazil coach Tite denied suggestions that he may have shown a lack of respect to his team’s opponents after joining Richarlison in a celebratory dance on the touchline during the first period.

“I said (to Richarlison) if you show it to me I’ll do it, but we have to be careful because various people will say it was disrespectful,” said Tite.

“I didn’t want it to be misinterpreted as anything less than a sense of happiness for the goal and for the result, and not that we were disrespecting our opponent which was not the case.”

Former Flamengo official, actor and screenwriter Antonio Tabet also hit back at Keane's comments, tweeting that the former Ireland captain “should get f**ked”.

Tabet added: “Ireland’s Roy Keane complaining about goal celebrations at a World Cup is like Ronaldinho disapproving of bobsledding at the Winter Olympics.”

And many fans also took aim at Keane on social media.

One wrote: "Roy Keane hates fun."

Another added: "Roy Keane what a bitter man you are. Football is about having fun, despite all the money it moves it’s still a game, let people be happy, enjoy it and celebrate it however the F they want."

Someone else wrote: "If there is a spot in the universe that is the farthest from fun, it is where Roy Keane lists his address."

One other tweet read: "WEE OOOO WEEE OOO WEEEOOO THE FUN POLICE IS HERE, is someone having too much fun? Roy Keane will get to the bottom of this crime. Also, it's part of their culture, its not like they did it right in front of the Korean goalkeeper."
