Ross Stewart to Hibs transfer warning as Ross County boss sends clear message over striker's future

Ross County manager Stuart Kettlewell warns Hibs they won't be able to land Ross Stewart on the cheap this summer.

The Hibees failed in a bid to land the striker in January, and manager Jack Ross is still keen to bring him in for the 2020-21 campaign.

Record Sport understands discussions have resumed between the two parties after falling to agree a deal during the previous January transfer window.

Stewart has one year remaining on his contract and scored 11 goals in 23 games for the Premiership side last season.

But Ross County won't be letting one of their key men go on the cheap, and have warned Hibs they'll need to stump up the cash if a deal is to be done.

Kettlewell told Sky Sports News: "Speaking to him yesterday he’s 100 per cent here at the football club.

"There is a bit of speculation, there is no concrete offer for Ross.

"We’re delighted to say that we’ve been a part of facilitating his development over the last couple of years.

"Ross feels he’s got a good fit here at Ross County, and if someone wants to go ahead and take Ross Stewart then I think it would have to be a pretty good offer to convince both him and us."
