Ross from Friends is reading bedtime stories on CBeebies

David Schwimmer is swapping the Central Perk sofa for the Cbeebies studio as he becomes the latest celeb to read its bedtime stories.

And we think we should name it 'The One with the Bedtime Stories' - get it?

The Friends star, famed for his stint playing Ross Gellar in the American sitcom, is set to tell a tale about a pair of aliens from two rival groups who fall in love, sparking strong disapproval from their families.

The story is from the latest book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler titled The Smeds And The Smoos.

David is the latest of a string of stars to have read a story on the children's programme.

He follows in the footsteps of the likes of Dolly Parton, Tom Hardy and even Sir Elton John.

His stint on the children's network comes as he continues promotion for his upcoming Sky comedy Intelligence.

The series is set in the UK's GCHQ and David plays an arrogant NSA agent Jerry who is sent to Cheltenham's version of MI6.

CBeebies Bedtime Story with David Schwimmer will be broadcast on February 22 at 6.50pm.
