Rory Stewart snubbed on walkabout in London's Brick Lane as he jokes 'you can't win 'em all'

This is the moment Tory leadership contender Rory Stewart is snubbed in London’s Brick Lane as he joked: “You can’t win ‘em all.”

Mr Stewart has become a social media hit with his “#RoryWalks” videos in which he approaches members of the public and speaks to them about issues ranging from farming to adult social care.

But his latest video in the East End didn’t go to plan.

The International Development Secretary approached three men asking: “Are you happy to have a quick film?”

Mr Stewart was told 'I don't f*** with politics, man' (@RoryStewartUK/Twitter)

Not mentioning he was a Conservative candidate to become the next Prime Minister, Mr Stewart engaged in polite small talk with the men.

When one of the group asked the video was for, Mr Stewart said: “I am a politician, I am standing to be Prime Minister, so I am going round meeting people.”

Tory leadership race: Who are the contenders so far?

“Ah,” one of the men responded.

“I don’t f*** with politics, man!”

Ending the conversation, one of the group then announced they were going to Nando’s.

Mr Stewart later tweeted the video under a caption: "You can’t win ‘em all..."

It comes as nominations for the party leadership contest opened at 10am on Monday.

Mr Stewart will officially launch his campaign in the capital on Tuesday.
