Ronan Keating appeared on The One Show on Thursday where he opened up on his new song with Robbie Williams.
Speaking to Alex Jones and Rylan Clark Neale, Ronan also revealed that his new baby Coco with wife Vogue Williams was sleeping incredibly well at just four months old.
Twenty Twenty is Ronan's new album, recorded to mark 20 years since he went solo from Boyzone.
He re-recorded some of his classic songs for it, but he said he struggled with Life is a Rollercoaster, as he felt he was singing a "karaoke version" and nothing fresh.
He explained that he sought the help of his son Cooper, and they ended up with a brand new "Daft Punk vibe" to the song.
Alex said: "And there's some emotional songs on there as well and personal songs, there's a song about Stephen Gately on there isn't there?"
Ronan replied: "Yeah, Robbie Williams reached out to me last October, it was Steo's ten year anniversary, and he sent me a track that he had written the week Stephen died, which just blew my mind.
"I remember standing in the kitchen and listening to this song with tears streaming down my face, and I said, 'We've got to do something with this track'.
"And he said, 'Let's do it'.
We were in the studio, and created this song called The Big Goodbye, and it gets me every time, unbelievable," he added, welling up with tears as the song played in the studio.
"It's amazing to have it, and so special, the story.
"And to get to sing with Rob, something I've always wanted to do," he added.
Stephen died in 2009 from a pulmonary oedema from an undiagnosed heart condition, aged just 33.
His devastated band mates Ronan, along with Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch, and Michael Graham, carried his coffin at his funeral.
