Romelu Lukaku 'wants Antonio Conte reunion' as Tottenham identify key transfer target

Tottenham's current situation is a far cry to the one that Antonio Conte inherited, with the Italian quickly finding his feet back in the Premier League.

Spurs may be behind north London rivals Arsenal in the table but they have two games in hand over Mikel Arteta's side, leaving their top-four fate in their own hands in mid-season.

Further business in January will kick them further towards their goals and there could be both incoming and outgoing business at the club.

Tariq Lamptey is a name that is being heavily touted for a move to the club, with the Sun stating Antonio Conte sees him as a 'key target'.

The former Chelsea talent has excelled since moving to Brighton, establishing himself as one of the most highly-rated defensive prospects within English football.

Therefore, his services won't come cheap and it's stated Tottenham may have to wait until the summer to conclude a £50m deal, while they could also face competition from Arsenal.

Elsewhere, an outlandish suggestion has been made by Italian journalist Giovanni Bia, who told TuttoMercatoWeb that he feels Romelu Lukaku's recent outburst came because he wants to reunite with Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

“It seems clear to me, this turmoil is aimed at returning to his old coach Antonio Conte. But maybe I’m wrong."

Finally, Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness states Tottenham are 'insisting' on signing Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski in the January transfer window.

The latest suggest is that Spurs could offer a player as makeweight in a deal, with the likes of Giovanni Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Taphet Tanganga mentioned previously.
