Romelu Lukaku hits back and responds to Manchester United critics

Former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has explained the difference between the Premier League and Serie A, hitting back at his critics.

The Belgian failed to score consistently across his time at Old Trafford, but since joining Inter Milan two years ago, Lukaku has gone from strength to strength and he enjoyed a prolific season in Italy this term, scoring 30 goals in 44 games across all competitions.

Lukaku, 28, has impressively converted that form onto the international stage at this summer's European Championship, though, scoring three goals for his nation thus far at the tournament and it's clear he's rejuvenated his career after stuttering at United.

So, what's the difference between playing for United and Inter Milan?

What do make of Lukaku's comments? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Lukaku has answered that question, taking to social media to reflect on his time in Manchester and Milan.

"Two great cities. Just the game is different, you've got to use your brains more in Italy," Lukaku wrote.

"Something they said I couldn’t do. Serie is really tough tactically. Every game is different.

"Sometimes you only get one chance a game so you got to take it."
