Here is your Leeds United digest for Saturday, September 5.
Rodrigo makes Man Utd admission
Stick a hat-trick past Manchester United’s David de Gea and Rodrigo would go a long way to repaying Leeds United's club-record £27m fee in one fell swoop.
In his first UK press conference since becoming the Whites’ most-expensive player in history, Rodrigo immediately set his sights on the old enemy over the Pennines.
The 29-year-old is currently on international duty with Spain, but took to Zoom to answer questions the night after he faced new team-mate Robin Koch and Germany.
One of the most highly-anticipated aspects of returning to the top flight for the Whites is the chance to face the Red Devils once again, a club Elland Road’s fans hate more than any other.
Gary Neville makes Bielsa admission
Former Manchester United and England right-back Gary Neville believes that Leeds United's return to the Premier League, spearheaded by Marcelo Bielsa, will be the "most intriguing" story of the 2020/21 season.
The Whites, who will kick-off their schedule with a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool next Saturday, ended their 16-year absence from the top-flight of English football last season by scooping the Championship title.
It was the perfect way for Leeds to finally secure a route back into the Premier League after the heartache of losing in the play-offs at the semi-final stages 12 months earlier to Derby County.
And now that the club is finally back in the Premier League, Leeds are determined to stay there, with the signing of Robin Koch and Valencia striker Rodrigo, who has joined the club for a club-record transfer fee proving that they have not returned to simply make up the numbers.
Leeds away kit revealed
Leeds United will mark their return to the top-flight of English football with a mouth-watering clash against reigning Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield.
The Whites will make the trip to Merseyside next Saturday looking to stamp their mark on their return to the top-flight, despite the challenge that lies ahead.
A new season, of course, means a new kit, and for Leeds it is no different. Their brand new home strip, which has proven to be incredibly popular, was launched last month and the first-team wore it for the first time earlier this week, as they were beaten by Stoke City in a pre-season friendly.
However, there has been no official announcement on the new away kit yet, despite leaks of the full strip emerging online last week. Read more here.
