Rodri has explained Ferran Torres will play a key role for Manchester City this season after they failed to sign Harry Kane.
Etihad chiefs made it their priority to sign a centre-forward this summer, but they failed to land Kane after Tottenham held firm and refused to negotiate, which led to the 28-year-old releasing a statement that outlined he would remain at Spurs this season.
Regardless of Pep Guardiola's side embarking into the new season without a recognised striker, the Blues have won their last two games 5-0 and finding the back of the net is yet to be a problem, something which Torres' form has certainly helped.
Torres, 21, has scored two goals this campaign and his runs in behind have won him comparisons to Jamie Vardy from Guardiola.
Although Rodri, currently with Spain on national duty, admitted Kane would have helped this City side, the midfielder also explained that there are other players in the team - namely Torres - that will be able to successfully shoulder the burden of scoring goals.
“A player of the stature of Kane helps a lot," Rodri admitted to Spanish outlet El Pais.
"But we have a team that has been able to win the Premier League and you have little to change.
"There are very few players who can score more than 20 goals, but that does not guarantee anything either.
"We have other players like Ferran [Torrres], for example, to play there. As a midfielder, I like to see him there because he creates a lot of spaces for you and not only comes to receive face-to-face, but in addition, he also has shots on goal."
