Rockstar Games: 'GTA VI' Preorders to Start by June 25, But Will a New Trailer Arrive?

Rockstar Games has confirmed the official opening of preorders for "Grand Theft Auto VI" that is coming next week.

Alongside this, there is also good news about "GTA VI's" release date as it remains unchanged, which means that the game is on track to be released this November.

Rockstar Games Confirms 'GTA VI' Preorders Start This June 25

Rockstar Games announced via a blog post that "GTA VI" will start its preorders on Thursday, June 25. The announcement also includes the official unveiling of the game's official cover art.

The new cover art features a series of stylized images depicting several characters, weapons, vehicles, and animals that will populate the new setting of Vice City. The cover follows the visual tradition of past Grand Theft Auto releases, immediately recognizable to longtime fans of the franchise.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had signaled earlier this year that a major marketing push for the game was coming this summer, and the preorder announcement is the clearest confirmation yet that the campaign is now in full swing.

'GTA VI' Release Date Is Still Set For November

The opening of preorders is being read by industry observers as a strong sign that the November 19 release date is holding firm. Rockstar previously delayed the game twice, each time announcing those delays roughly six months out from the then-current target dates.

The studio is now well inside that six-month window with no delay announcement in sight, which points toward the November 19 date on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S being locked in.

Take-Two confirmed last year that "Grand Theft Auto VI" will launch on consoles first, with a PC version expected to follow at a later, unspecified date. Pricing details for the game's various editions have not yet been officially confirmed, though a standard edition, a deluxe edition, and potentially a collector's bundle are all widely expected.

It is known that many experts and industry insiders believe that "GTA VI" may be the first game to release with a $100 price tag, but that is yet to be confirmed.

Will A New Trailer Arrive Next Week?

Rockstar did not release a new trailer alongside the preorder announcement, and this still has fans and players awaiting a deeper look and more information as to what "GTA VI" and Vice City have to offer.

According to Engadget, there may be a potential trailer drop soon. The timing was widely speculated ahead of the June 25 date, with many fans expecting the third trailer to drop and accompany the official start of the preorders.

The game centers on the fictional region of Leonida, which serves as the broader open-world setting surrounding a modernized Vice City, which is an area already familiar to "GTA" fans.

The story follows two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, in what Rockstar has described as a Bonnie and Clyde-style journey through crime, survival, and betrayal across the sun-soaked landscape of the American South.

"Grand Theft Auto VI" launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
