Rocket Barrages From Gaza Injure Israelis, Netanyahu Vows Strong Response

At least seven Israelis sustained injuries on Monday afternoon as Gaza-based terrorist groups unleashed more barrages of rockets at the Jewish state’s population centers, including the Jerusalem area.

Magen David Adom emergency medical service medics treated a man in his 20s who had been seriously wounded by shrapnel when a rocket hit Abu Ghosh, west of Jerusalem.

Photos shared on social media showed a rocket hit near a mosque in the Israeli Arab community.

In the ultra-Orthodox community of Beitar Illit in Gush Etzion, MDA paramedics treated four people wounded by the latest attacks, including a 10-year-old boy in serious condition and three men with light wounds.

The four were evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Kerem and Shaare Zedek hospitals in Jerusalem.

“Another two people were treated at an unnamed location in the Jerusalem corridor,” said MDA— a woman in her 60s in critical condition and a man with light injuries.

Rocket warning sirens blared across Israel’s capital as mourners gathered at the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery for the funeral of Cpl. Nathanel Young, a British-born Golani Brigade soldier killed during Hamas’s surprise attack on Saturday.

The Hamas terrorist organization killed at least 800 Israelis and wounded more than 2,600 on Saturday in a massive offensive that included the launch of thousands of rockets at the Jewish state.

Of the 2,616 wounded, 25 remain in critical condition, according to the Israeli Health Ministry. In addition, 357 Israelis sustained severe wounds.

On Monday afternoon, the IDF announced it had hit “many” targets in Gaza City’s al-Furqan neighborhood, calling it a “nest of terror” used by Hamas to launch attacks against Israel.

“I ask that you stand steadfast because we are going to change the Middle East,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told mayors and local council heads from Israel’s South on Monday, stressing that Hamas will be defeated “forcefully.”

“What Hamas will experience will be difficult and terrible. We are already engaged in the campaign and we are just getting started,” said Netanyahu.
