Rock thrown at Go Ahead Ireland bus smashes window during rush hour traffic in Nutgrove

A Dublin Bus was brought to a standstill at rush hour on Tuesday evening when a window was shattered by a rock.

The incident took place at 4:40 on the number 17 bus just outside Nutgrove Church.

Pat McHale who was a passenger on the bus at the time said: "A group of youths ran up towards the bus as it was stood in traffic.

"They had their faces covered and hoods up and one of them threw a rock at the window and smashed it. Thankfully nobody has been injured."

Passengers were transported onto a different bus following the incident.

In a statement to Dublin Live, Go Ahead Ireland said: "A number of youths were throwing stones at the bus and smashed the window at the emergency door."
