Rocco Vata reveals Celtic debut by 17 target as he dreams of playing for 'the best fans in the world'

Rocca Vata has set his sights on an early Celtic senior debut after B team success.

The Hoops have a string of talented teens hoping to make their way into the Ange Postecoglou's squad in the near future, with the Irish youngster amongst them.

The 16-year-old is the son of former Hoops star Rudi Vata who spent three years in Glasgow back in the '90s.

The teen has watched the likes of Karamoko Dembele break through, as well as Ben Doak before his move to Liverpool.

Vata's experience in the Lowland League as well as his Under-17s Ireland international caps could help him make his first-team debut in the near future.

The youngster is keen to make the step up to Ange Postecoglou 's side sooner rather than later.

Speaking during a chat with the FAI, he said: "It's been really good, I personally think it's the best fans in the world."

"Hopefully before I'm 17 or when I'm 17 I can make my debut for Celtic.

"That's obviously what I'm working towards when I'm playing with the B team.

"I've been playing well recently and I think the first-team staff have been there watching so hopefully I'll make my debut at one point."

The teen also went on to let fans know what they can expect from his style of play.

"My strengths would be pace, dribbling, long-range shooting," he added.

"I'm direct with my play so I'm not scared to get at defenders. I always look to go forward as well, look for the forward pass and create chances."
