Robyn releases new single 'Missing U', her first official release in eight years

Robyn is back with a brand new single, "Missing U", marking her first official solo release in eight years.

The upbeat track reunites the Swedish pop singer with her longtime collaborator and co-writer Klas Åhlund, along with Joseph Mount of Metronomy

"Missing U" is a sad disco bop about "this trippy thing that happens when people disappear", Robyn explained. "It's like they become even more clear and you see them everywhere."

Listen to the track below:

Robyn announced her return - to the delight of fans - with a seven-minute short film where she previewed the track and attended a fan-thrown dance party in Brooklyn.

She said the single was "also a little bit of a message to my fans, that I've missed them".

In an interview with BBC Radio 1 on 1 August, she promised that her anticipated follow up to 2010's Body Talk would hopefully be released "some time this year". She described her new music as "softer" than previous works.
