Robin Williams' son Zak welcomes baby son using name as tribute to legendary dad

The eldest child of late Hollywood actor and comedian Robin Williams has welcomed his first baby.

Zak Williams welcomed a son with fiancée Olivia June on May 22, and they paid tribute to the much missed Robin when naming the new arrival.

The baby, which weighed in at 8lbs on arrival, will be named McLaurin Clement Williams, taking his first name from Robin's middle name.

Zak and Olivia have indicated that they will call him Mickey for short.

Since the passing of Robin, 36-year-old Zak became a mental-health advocate, entrepreneur and Angel investor.

Olivia is the CEO of the women’s-empowerment and community app Hey! VINA. She is also a tech-startup founder.

McLaurin has arrived almost five years after Robin took his own life at the age of 63.

Speaking about his late father previously, Zak has indicated: "I miss him all the time."

Robin had three children, Zak and sister Zelda, 29. He also had a son Cody, 27.

In a TV documentary last year about the actor and comedian, his first wife Valerie Velardi spoke for the first time about how she had to tolerate his infidelity during their 10-year marrage.

Robin, who died in 2014, was alleged to have found the temptation to stray too hard to resist, after he hit the big time.

Valerie said: “He loved women. Absolutely loved women. And I got it.

“I understood and I wanted him to have that. But I also wanted him to come home.”
