Robbie Neilson sends Hearts transfer update after sealing Orestis Kiomourtzoglou signing

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson wants to add even more players to his squad in the transfer window's final week.

German midfielder Orestis Kiomourtzoglou was unveiled to supporters prior to their 3-2 Premiership win over St Johnstone at Tynecastle. He has arrived from Dutch side Heracles Almelo BV – subject to international clearance and visa approval – on a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee. It's been a busy summer of incomings at Hearts but Neilson says there's a couple more additions still to be made, with Europa Conference League group stage football starting next month.

He said: "I’m delighted we’ve managed to get Orestis in on a permanent deal. He’s one we’ve had our eye on for a while so to be able to bring him here ahead of the window closing is great news. He’ll bring a real presence to our midfield and his style of play will be well suited to the system we implement here.

“We’re building a squad capable of challenging on two fronts – domestically and in Europe – and to have Orestis be a part of it is a big plus.

"We have got Kio in and now we are still looking for another one or two. We know we still need to bring some people in."

Sporting director Joe Savage said of their latest purchase: “We’ve had to be patient to get him in but we’re all really happy that he’s going to be pulling on the maroon jersey."
