Robbie Neilson Rangers fury earns SFA rap after Juninho Bacuna red card protest

Robbie Neilson has been handed an SFA charge following a furious row with referee Don Robertson against Rangers.

The Hearts boss fumed after whistler Robertson opted to show sub Juninho Bacuna a booking, when he appeared to grab full-back Stephen Kingsley by the throat.

The referee flashed his yellow card at both players following the clash near the dugout.

Neilson was seen gesturing for a red card for the Rangers player, but his protests earned two quick-fire yellow cards by whistler Robertson.

That meant Neilson missed Craig Halkett heading home a late equaliser for the visitors.

He’s now been offered a one-match suspension, but can choose to argue his case in front of an SFA disciplinary tribunal.

After being sent up the tunnel by the fourth official in a bizarre jacket-throwing scene, Neilson said: “I didn’t see the goal but I just heard the silence, which was nice.

“I was delighted. I was in the tunnel area and couldn't get down. I was disappointed to get the second yellow, but that’s football.

“But, look, when you come to these places you are not going to get those decisions.

“It was a stonewaller.”
