A man was stabbed in the head in a struggle over his watch in a quiet, residential street in east London.
The victim, in his 30s, was reportedly confronted by a group of people in Laburnum Avenue, Hornchurch at 2.45am on Friday.
The group assaulted him and stole his watch before fleeing the scene before police could arrive.
The victim was found with a knife injury to his head.Police say the man was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.
An alleyway between houses going into Harrow Lodge Park was cordoned off by police on Friday morning.
A Met spokesperson said: “Enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.
“No arrests have been made.”
