Rob Holding: Luton want Arsenal defender on loan after Mikel Arteta sanctions exit

Arsenal defender Rob Holding is a loan target for Premier League new boys Luton.

Holding has been left out of the Arsenal squad for their first three Premier League fixtures and manager Mikel Arteta has cleared him to leave Emirates Stadium.

The 27-year-old is weighing up his options before Friday’s transfer deadline. He also has interest from clubs in Spain, while Wolves and Crystal Palace are also reportedly monitoring his situation.

Meanwhile, Folorin Balogun was due in France today to undergo a medical at Monaco and complete his £34million move to the Ligue 1 club.

Arsenal were holding out for £50m for a player who scored 21 goals in France last season, but Monaco have negotiated the price down. Chelsea were also interested but quoted a far higher price.

Albert Sambi Lokonga, Cedric Soares, Nuno Tavares and Nicolas Pepe are also up for sale this week as Arteta looks to continue trimming his squad.
