Kylie Jenner has yet again fuelled speculation of a possible music career, this time by convincing fans she is the voice behind a promo for her new cosmetics line.
The reality star first got tongues wagging over the weekend, when she reshared an old Charli xcx tweet from 2016 in which the brat oracle foretold Kylie’s potential pop stardom.
“I hope Kylie Jenner becomes a pop star in 2017,” Charli wrote in the post, which was reshared by Jenner almost a decade later on Saturday.

At the time, fans were divided as to whether Jenner’s unearthing of the tweet was a tease for new music, a callback in light of her just-announced role in Charli’s new movie The Moment, or simply a way to generate hype around Kylie Cosmetics — since she reshared the tweet in between other posts teasing a new makeup drop.
Now, Jenner has poured gasoline on all the theories by debuting the so-called “Glosses Part II” music video on Snapchat, while reviving her long-dormant King Kylie alter ego in the process.
For those unaware of the lore, Jenner launched the first music video, “Glosses Part I”, back in 2016 to promote her cosmetics line at the height of King Kylie, an era in which she she regularly donned the dog filter on Snapchat, debuted multiple hair colours, and used the moniker as her Snapchat username.
Upon its release all those years ago, the music video was soundtracked by a then-unknown song called “3 Strikes” by the band Terror Jr, but because the group had a scarce online presence — and since the song was never released beyond the promotional video — many fans speculated it was actually Jenner singing on the track.
Jenner put those rumours to bed in 2016 on Snapchat (because, where else?), saying she was “not the singer of Terror Jr.”, but the resuscitation of the track — helped along by Jenner’s cryptic posts — has reawakened all those theories once more.
“We deadass really got Kylie Jenner music before a new Rihanna album,” one X user wrote in response to the clip, which sees Jenner being released from prison before hitching a ride with Kris Jenner in a Rolls Royce. The number plate, you ask? “KINGKYLIE”.
“Fans scrambling to figure out if it’s real or influencer magic,” another user wrote. Jenner neither confirmed nor denied if it was actually her vocals in the video, but did announce it was part of her cosmetics line while celebrating her return to her King Kylie roots.
“I’ve seen all your messages asking for a King Kylie collection, the fearless era that had a dream at just 17 years old! .. and… wanted to give you exactly what you’ve been waiting for,” Jenner wrote alongside pics of herself in a crown, because… duh!

For their part, Terror Jr. was similarly coy about the song’s credits on their Instagram, sharing screenshots of fans’ reactions to the new music video including one who questioned if it was “y’all’s song”.

We may never know whether Jenner has added pop star to her now-growing credits beyond reality TV, but if the point was to drum up hype around her cosmetics line, well, we’ve fallen for similar antics from the Kar-Jenners before.
