Rio Ferdinand, Cesc Fabregas and Peter Crouch agree on Arsenal star Martin Odegaard

Rio Ferdinand, Cesc Fabregas and Peter Crouch are all in agreement over the ever-impressive Martin Odegaard in this current Arsenal side.

Having been given the responsibility of leading the side for the 22/23 season, the Norway captain is seemingly going for strength to strength, pinpointing his qualities within the side.

Odeegard has already found the net three times from an attacking midfield position and will hope for even more success during today's North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to BT Sport prior to the lunchtime kick-off, former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was quick to praise Odeegard's current contribution for Mikel Arteta and co.

''I hope he will be crucial in a good way because I really like his style, I like his intelligence, the way he moves, the way he finds little pockets where you can make the difference - in football you don’t have a lot of space these days,'' he began.

''He’s very tricky but has a good eye for goal, he was 15 made he made his debut for Norway, he’s the captain of Norway, now a very young captain for Arsenal, not an easy task for him but he’s responding well. I’m very happy of him, he reminds me of me when I took the armband at 21, it’s not easy, it’s a big, big club, everyone wants results.''

With both Crouch and Ferdinand in agreement too, the former Real Madrid man is certainly coming into his own after a stable transition period in England's top flight.

''With Odegaard, I think he has taken him to the next level, responsibility, he’s become more influential,'' added Crouch. ''Last season he was playing well but this season he seems to have gone up another gear, he wants the ball, he’s dictating things, he’s become a real big player for them.''

''I question that on my podcast. Can he [Odegaard] go up another level or will it be too heavy on his shoulders? This season, he’s proved everybody this is me, this is what I want,'' concluded Ferdinand.
