Ridvan Yilmaz details one Rangers wish as he aims for 'perfect season at every stage' next term

Ridvan Yilmaz admits coming back from his 'heavy injury' was hard but says he's loved every single minute of being at Rangers.

The Light Blues shelled out a big fee last summer under Giovanni van Bronckhorst to land the youngster but a series of injuries and being unable to force out Borna Barisic meant limited minutes on the park. But after returning to full fitness new boss Michael Beale has handed him a run and the opportunity to impress - with the defender doing his chances no harm.

He started every game in the league split to give him five starts in a row with the Ibrox men picking up four wins and one draw including an Old Firm derby win over Celtic. His final day of the season display included two assists for Fashion Sakala in a comfortable win over St Mirren.

The 22-year-old will be desperate to be Beale's No1 choice in the role next season as a big summer rebuild gets underway at Ibrox. The Light Blues faithful said goodbye to Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor, Filip Helander and Scott Arfield last midweek while it was a big hello to Kieran Dowell who has become the first name in the door this summer.

Ridvan admits he wished he could have helped his team-mates more this season as he sent a rally cry for the new campaign as he targets the 'perfect season' at every stage.

He wrote on his personal Instagram: "I wish I could have helped my team mates and my club more this season.

"Dealing with a heavy injury and coming back was hard but I enjoyed every minute since day one here in Glasgow Rangers.

"Thank you very much everyone and Rangers fans supported me. So proud to be a BLUE and hope we will have a perfect season at every stage next year."

His Rangers pal Sakala poked fun at his team-mate while praising him. He commented: "Hasbulla you’re the best bro."
