
A 52-year-old man is in hospital in a critical condition following an ‘altercation’ in east London, police say.
Officers were called to Ridley Road in Hackney at 7.40 am today alongside London Ambulance Service.
A 52-year-old man was rushed to hospital where he is understood to be in a critical condition.
Two men, aged 32 and 36, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
They remain in police custody.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “ At around 07:40hrs on Wednesday, 21 May, officers attended Ridley Road, Hackney, alongside the London Ambulance Service, following reports of an altercation.
“A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital. His condition has been assessed as critical, and we await further updates.
“Two men, aged 32 and 36, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in police custody.
“A crime scene remains in place in Ridley Road.
“Anybody who witnessed the incident - or who has information - should contact the police on 101, quoting crime reference 2442/21MAY.”
