Richarlison sends Everton injury update as recovery continues

Richarlison has been videoed completing work in Everton's gym as he continues his comeback from injury.

The Brazil international has missed all of his side's last three matches with a knee issue, picked up in the 3-1 win over Burnley at Goodison Park earlier this month.

The forward was involved in a controversial challenge with James Tarkowski in the second half of that victory for the Blues, but continued before being replaced by Salomon Rondon in the 81st minute.

The 24-year-old subsequently missed losses to Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers, and was also absent for the win over Norwich City this weekend.

However, Richarlison has now taken to social media to update supporters on his condition as preparations continue for the trip to Manchester United on Saturday.

The Brazilian was first videoed by the club's director of medical services Danny Donachie while hard at work in the gym at Finch Farm, being watched by teammate Allan.

The Everton star can be seen walking backwards and dragging some weights along the floor in exercises designed to work his legs as his recovery continues.

Richarlison then took to his own social media to share another update.

On his Instagram story, the Brazilian showed a close-up of his knee while working hard on a leg machine in the gym - clearly showing that his injury is very much on the mend.

Benitez last week revealed that none of Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Seamus Coleman would be available for international duty as they are all absent through injury for their clubs.

The Brazil squad released last Friday did not include the Everton man, but his latest activity in the gym could hint at some involvement against Manchester United if his recovery continues.
