A former engineer who was depressed when his weight hit 21 stone has completed an incredible transformation in less than a year.
Chris Daniels, who lives with his wife Linda in Nuthall, joined his local WW (formerly Weight Watchers) group in Kimberley in May 2018, and since then has lost eight stone.
The 64-year-old has swapped curries, Guinness and Peperami for vegetable soups, sugar free sweets and fruit and is reaping the rewards.
He lost three stone in the first three months of joining his WW group and had to change his goal weight after hitting his original target after just five months.
Mr Daniels, who retired through ill health in 2015, has smashed his latest target of getting under 14 stone and is now so much healthier he no longer has to take blood pressure medication.

"My health was worsening and I was getting more depressed and I hit 21 stone," he said.
"I convinced my wife that we should rejoin WW as it had worked well for me years ago. I was determined that this time I would lose the weight and keep it off for good.
"The weight soon started to drop off and by July I had lost three stone.
"I felt better than I had in years. I was walking three to four miles a day and had reached the small target I had set myself for our Scottish holiday in September.
“I reset my September goal to lose another stone and increased my walking to five to six mile a day.
"I continued tracking my progress on the app recording my meals and activity and making sure I stayed within the tracking zone, which is designed for a healthy weight loss.
"I was further spurred on by my wife reaching her goal weight in August and by September I had lost another 19lbs.”
Following his holiday he returned home and was taken off his blood pressure medication by his GP.

"He couldn’t believe how much weight I had lost and took me off my blood pressure tablets. I was delighted," he added.
His WW coach, Lucy Parker, said: "I’m so proud of Chris. He inspires everyone in our Kimberley Workshop every week.
"He has done amazingly well and I couldn’t be more proud to be his WW coach.
"Not only has he had an astounding weight loss he has turned his health around and now enjoys a healthy, active lifestyle."
