Research reveals myth of 'silver surfers'

Research from ICM has revealed as false the claim that "silver surfers" download from the net as much as youth. The survey found that 48% of 55-64 year olds expressed no interest in downloading material, compared to a minority of 14% of respondents aged 18-24. Just 16% of the older group said were interested in downloading music to a MP3 player. You'll find a fuller report here. I'm not too surprised. The age profile of newspaper readers reveals the reverse situation: lots of "silver readers" and very few young readers. Old media versus new media, stupid! (Via New Media Age)
