Firefighters rescued one person from a burning building in Edge Hill this afternoon.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service arrived at the scene on Leopold Road, by the junction with Edge Lanem at around 2.20pm this afternoon ( Saturday) following reports of a house fire.
Crews wearing breathing equipment entered the terraced house and rescued the occupant.

A spokesman for the fire service said that the occupant was passed into the care of North West Ambulance Service.
Firefighters carried out a thorough search of the house, which was found to be empty.
A spokesman said that the fire is thought to have started on the first floor of the house.
The fire is not thought to have spread to neighbouring homes.
Police and ambulance also attended the scene.
A police spokesman said the fire was not thought to be suspicious.
Two fire crews were sent out to the incident off Edge Lane.
The fire was put out at around 4pm today.
