Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone told the media he felt good about receiver Dede Westbrook’s chances to play against the New York Jets and he was right to do so. Per ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the third-year receiver will suit up Week 8.
Westbrook has been dealing with his shoulder and neck injury since before the Jags’ Week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was ruled questionable for that game, too, but was cleared to play. He was able to lead the team in receiving in the process with six catches for 103 yards.
Westbrook will be a welcomed addition Sunday as the Jags will look to break even at 4-4. He’ll be up against a passing defense that is ranked No. 24 in the league and has allowed an average of 260.0 yards a game.
