The Tennessee Titans have reportedly added an offensive lineman to their roster in former Cleveland Browns tackle, Chris Hubbard.
The news comes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, although the length and financial terms of the deal with Hubbard were not disclosed.
A former undrafted free agent out of Alabama-Birmingham in 2014, Hubbard has nine years of NFL experience under his belt, with snaps played at both guard and tackle.
He has spent most of his career as a backup, but he did make 44 starts over 57 games from 2017-20, and more specifically played at right tackle from 2017-19.
Hubbard actually proved to be a serviceable lineman in pass protection in that span, but his run-blocking numbers left a lot to be desired. Here’s a look at his PFF grades and pass protection stats from 2017-19:
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman made five starts over 11 contests in 2020, with 224 snaps at right guard and 62 at right tackle. Here’s what those snaps produced, per PFF.
The 32-year-old has played sparingly over the past two years, with just five games (one start) in that span. His 2021 season was cut short after one game due a triceps injury, and he appeared in just four games in 2022.
Hubbard is the lesser of the two linemen the Titans brought in for a workout recently (George Fant was the other), but he does give Tennessee another experienced starting or depth option at multiple spots, including at right tackle.
