Report: Steelers WR Antonio Brown will now meet with team president Art Rooney II

After first reporting Antonio Brown would not meet with Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II, NFL reporter Ian Rapoport has come out and said there’s been a change and Brown has agreed with Rooney in Florida.

Will it matter if the two sides sit down together? It’s tough to be optimistic at this point but just getting Rooney and Brown at a table together is cause for optimism.

Brown has publicly come out and said he wants to be traded this offseason. His and the Steelers’ season ended about as badly as it could with Pittsburgh missing the playoffs and Brown being MIA for the team’s final game.

The Steelers are under no obligation to trade Brown. He’s under contract through 2021 and is vital to the Steelers’ offense. Perhaps Rooney can convince Brown how much both sides need each other to be successful.
