Report: Steelers LB T.J. Watt one test away from playing vs the Ravens

It’s already Friday but the Pittsburgh Steelers still don’t know who will be available on Sunday to take on the Baltimore Ravens. One player the Steelers would love to have back is star outside linebacker T.J. Watt.

Watt has spent the last five days on the Reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive. But according to Pro Football Talk, Watt has a negative COVID-19 test on Friday and if he gets a second one Saturday will be clear to play. By rule, a player must have two negatives 24 hours apart to be activated from the COVID list.

The Steelers have already ruled out the team’s best cornerback and Joe Haden will miss a second-straight game with his foot injury. In addition, defensive tackle Cam Heyward missed Friday’s practice with an unknown illness and his status is in question. Getting Watt back would be a huge upgrade.

On the season, Watt has 12.5 sacks despite missing all or part of 4 games.
