New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones is expected to miss “some time” with a hamstring injury, a source told The Athletic’s Jeff Howe on Thursday.
Jones was listed as a limited participant at practice on Wednesday, but he did not participate in Thursday’s practice. Not having him on the field is a tough blow for the Patriots given their questionable depth at the cornerback position.
This will put them in a position where they might have to lean more on players like Myles Bryant and Shaun Wade behind Jonathan Jones, Christian Gonzalez and Marcus Jones.
Things get tough right of the gates with the Patriots welcoming the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles to Gillette Stadium on Sunday. They’ll have to find a way to fend off star quarterback Jalen Hurts and an explosive Eagles offense.
