REPORT: Jalen Ramsey’s agent asked for a trade after loss vs. Texans

According to Adam Schefter at ESPN, Jalen Ramsey’s agent asked the Jacksonville Jaguars for a trade Sunday night following the team’s 13-12 loss to the Houston Texans.

Jalen Ramsey and head coach Doug Marrone got into an altercation on the sideline Sunday afternoon, and most had speculated it was because Marrone refused to challenge a pass which Ramsey had appeared to have broken up to receiver Deandre Hopkins. The resulting drive ended in a field goal, which could have been the difference in a tight game.

Monday afternoon the team announced that the fourth-year corner won’t face disciplinary action following his demonstration on Sunday, but has apparently grown tired of playing for a team that can’t seem to get out of his own way.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport had the following to say on the situation:

Sources: Jaguars Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey has requested a trade from the team. This stems from his frustration with how he’s being used and from a confrontation with coach Doug Marrone on Sunday. This has been steadily building.

It remains to be seen whether Ramsey will be granted an exit from Jacksonville, but we’ll have more on the situation as it unfolds.
