Report: Dolphins have no plans to pursue Tom Brady in free agency

Despite speculation this offseason, the Miami Dolphins won’t be a potential landing spot for Tom Brady.

The 42 year old quarterback has been with the New England Patriots for 20 seasons and the only way he’ll play in the AFC East, is if he remains in Foxborough. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross was quick to shut the idea down while speaking with reporters last Friday.

“We’re a team that’s building, and I don’t know why he’d really want to come to the Dolphins,” Ross said. “He’s been one of the fiercest competitors there is and we’re at the stage with the Dolphins trying to really build a team for the future.”

Brady’s looming free agency decision could be revealed within the next two months, but it appears the Patriots will make a strong push to retain him. Brady reportedly just wants more weapons and New England will need to make that happen very quickly before Brady explores his options.

The Dolphins are in good hands with former Patriot Brian Flores as their head coach and they’re poised to get a quarterback with the No. 5 pick in the draft this year. There’s options on the table like Tua Tagovailoa, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert and Jacob Eason.

Brady has an enormous decision to make and Patriots fans will be glad to avoid seeing him twice a year in an opposing jersey.
