So far, the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL have not been able to have their coaches or players at their team facilities because of restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. As states begin to open up, teams have begun to open some operations, although players and coaches are still not permitted yet.
That could change, according to a report from Yahoo!’s Charles Robinson.
The sources told Yahoo Sports that if coaches resume their in-house work next week, minicamps including players could be scheduled as early as June 15 or as late as June 27, depending on COVID-19 data and whether a handful of franchises get a “go ahead” signal from state governments to resume full operations.
California might be the final hurdle. Arizona and Florida have opened up for sports. So has New York and New Jersey.
If the timeline holds true, then teams would still get to break for a month before training camp, which should then begin on time.
The only question after that remains is whether the preseason will begin with fans in the stadium.
