Report: All the presumed positive COVID-19 tests from the Browns re-tested as negative

The first broad snafu of the NFL’s new COVID-19 testing procedures appears to have come to an end. That’s good news for the Cleveland Browns, one of the teams most prominently impacted by the issue with a testing facility and a rash of false positive diagnoses.

According to numerous reports, including one from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, all the presumed positive cases from Saturday’s testing at a facility in New Jersey wound up negative after being re-tested. Those include any and all positive tests from the Browns, one of 11 teams impacted by the irregularities at the testing site.

The Browns canceled practice on Sunday before quickly rescheduling a media-free session with no pads later in the day. Cleveland also had the team facilities disinfected and cleaned once again as a precaution.
