Renfrewshire derby on the cards for Saints after Betfred Cup draw

A Renfrewshire derby is on the cards for St Mirren following today’s draw for the group stages of the Betfred Cup.

The Buddies are in Group G  along with Morton, Queen of the South, Partick Thistle and Queen’s Park.

The group fixtures are scheduled to take place on October 6, 10 and 13 and November 10 and 14.

Forty clubs went into the hat for the draw in Glasgow - the 38 SPFL clubs not taking part in European competitions plus Brora Rangers and Kelty Hearts.

The eight group winners and four best runners-up will be joined in the last 16 on the weekend of November 28/29 by holders Celtic, Rangers,

Motherwell and Aberdeen, who don’t take part in the initial group stages due to European games.
