Renfrew ready to take on St Peter's in free festive friendly at New Western Park

Any Renfrewshire football fans looking for a live football fix during the winter break can head down to New Western Park this evening.

Conference B side Renfrew are taking on Division 4 outfit St Peter’s in a festive friendly, with the two sides currently ground-sharing after St Peter’s joined the West of Scotland League set-up at the start of the year.

Kick-off is at 7pm and entry is totally free, with both clubs hopeful a large crowd will come through the gates to cheer the players on.

A Renfrew club spokesperson said: “Up to three households are able to stand together and there must be one-metre physical distancing within groups.

“Face coverings are also required when using indoor facilities, such as toilets, and one-metre physical distancing must be in place in queues.”

Renfrew are also set to take on Cumbernauld United in another friendly on Wednesday, January 3 at New Western Park as they look to maintain their fitness levels during the winter break.

Kick-off for that clash is 7.30pm, with entry also free again.
